No Time for Etsy

I've been so busy with work and family that I haven't scoured Etsy for fab finds in weeks.  I have taken a little time to hunt for a tent for my family for this summer.  Last summer we started camping and loved it, so this summer it's time to upgrade from the sleeps four squished like sardines tent that we borrowed from a friend to a tent of our own. Of course I dream of owning a bell - how sweet would it be to camp in one of these....

Keep in mind I live in the States where bells are still scarce (read prohibitively expensive) and my husband is not keen on lugging around 50 lbs of canvas, but I can dream, maybe I can scour etsy for some fab luxuries for our sure to not be luxurious tent...

I find myself pinning quite a few houses with large expanses of glass.  As it is, I've lived in loft spaces the better half of my life so it's no wonder I am drawn to houses with large windows.

Popeye

I'm not sure why other than my mother's name is Olive so Olive Oyl popped up in a conversation earlier this week, but my son has recently become obsessed with Popeye.  We watched a few REALLY old cartoons the other night and tonight we tried finding out why he is called Popeye (unsucessfully I might add, something about losing an eye maybe?) Anyway in our search we learned a lot of Popeye history including the fact that he was credited with saving the spinach industry in the mid 30's and he was the first cartoon character to have a public statue built in his honor.  I also stumbled upon this and it just so happens my son (and I) are Wilco fans as well...

 

If I were an It Girl : Paco Rabanne

That's right - Paco Rabanne, some of you may not even be old enough to recognize the name, but he is back and I was too young his first go around so IF I were an It Girl I'd be wearing his Autumn/Fall collection daily! Paco Rabanne is known as the father of unwearable clothing, of clothing made out of non-ordinary materials. This new collection (designed by Manish Arora) blends all that is Paco Rabanne with knits and wovens making it everyday worthy.  Luxury fabrics with metal accents - LOVE!

Fridays Child

I'm doing a photo shoot Tuesday with a 9 month old and I was lucky enough to get to borrow some things from my friend Anna of Misha and Puff.  Don't you just love the dot pants! They are a sample and she's still debating whether to produce them.  All her product line is knit so she's still not sure, but paired with one of these sweaters they're so cute! Here's hoping they fit the little boy...

 

If I Were an It Girl

If I were an IT Girl I MIGHT have a reason to own one of these, even then it's debatable. I am loving working on the costumes for my daughter's ballet school's Sleeping Beauty, It is giving me the excuse to pin all these gorgeous dresses that really don't fall into "My Fashion" like these beauties...

Color my Light

I am loving color corded lamps.  I imagine fairly soon one will be able to get color cord at Home Depot, but the trend hasn't spread there quite yet (they do stock a selection of colored duct tape now though!) so Etsy is where I headed - found this great shop stocking a very decent selection of upcycled lamps plus a build your own option...
